About Jeff Hughes
Jeff Hughes was enrolled at the College of the Canyons for two years before attending the University of Oklahoma on a baseball scholarship in 1984. He graduated from California State University Northridge in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He then decided to pursue a professional career in baseball. Jeff played in the minor leagues with the San Francisco Giants and the Salt Lake City Trappers.
After his baseball career, Jeff returned to the University of Oklahoma School of Law, where he graduated with honors. Shortly after graduation, Jeff began his career as a personal injury defense attorney at Bush, Koppel &Schweizer. During this time, Jeff specialized in special investigation in fraud cases with various insurance carriers.

The next step in Jeff’s career path was working for The Law Offices of John Boyko, where he served as a trial attorney for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. At this point in his career, Jeff realized that he would rather represent the victims than the defendants. Jeff then transitioned to doing plaintiff’s personal injury work in 2000, and a year later, he founded Gibson & Hughes with fellow attorney, Rob Gibson.
Jeff has tried many cases to verdict. He has experience representing clients in all types of cases, including auto accident, slip and fall, dog bite and wrongful termination claims.
He is actively involved in the local legal community and is a proud member of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association and the Orange County Bar Association. Jeff Hughes lives in Santa Ana, California and is committed to helping the injured victims of this community recover the compensation they deserve.
